Devon Cornwall CoOp
Collaborating with a group of folks, we have created our latest batch of products from fishing nets collected along the Devon and Cornwall Coasts.
This is a big deal as it's our first batch of materials to use a recycled pellet processed in the United Kingdom. Our marine plastic—sourced from end-of-life fishing nets and ghost gear—is collected and reprocessed in the UK. Using an energy-efficient process, we minimize our environmental footprint while maximizing impact.
Working with our partners at Waterhaul, Biffa and PTS, groups are collecting 15-ton batches of nets and ropes. This is the minimum requirement of the pelletising partner. Combining multiple hauls from around Devon and Cornwall into a CoOp batch. The nets are cleaned, shredded and then pelletised. The pellet ensures our manufacturing process is as efficient and sustainable as possible. You can find out more about the materials here.
