Devon Cornwall CoOp

“The ocean’s most harmful plastic waste transformed into a resource. Marine plastic recovered and recycled in the UK allows you to trace exactly where the fishing gear was recovered and recycled, from port to pellet. For creating products embedded with impact.”

This is a big deal as it's our first batch of materials to use a recycled pellet processed in the United Kingdom. We have been dreaming of this for many years.

This marine plastic is sourced from end-of-life fishing nets and ghost gear and is collected and reprocessed in the UK. Using an energy-efficient process, we minimize our environmental footprint while maximizing impact.

For this batch, we collaborated with Waterhaul, which works with Biffa, Clean Ocean Sailing, PTS, and various groups up and down the Devon and Cornish Coasts, collecting 15-ton batches of nets and ropes.

This is the minimum requirement of the pelletising partner. Multiple hauls from around Devon and Cornwall are combined into this CoOp batch. The nets are cleaned, shredded, and then pelletised. The pellet ensures that our manufacturing process is as efficient and sustainable as possible.
