We proudly joined over 15,000 ocean and river advocates in London and joined hundreds of businesses for the Coalition’s March for Clean Water, walking in a merman tail and standing alongside swimmers, surfers, paddleboarders, and countless other water lovers who find joy, solace, and strength in our rivers and seas.
At Ecotribo, our connection to the ocean isn’t just a mission—it’s part of who we are. It has to be said it was a challenging march shuffling along for nearly 4 miles in a merman tail but we got to parliament square eventually along with our crew and some amazing support from the rest of the marchers!
Whether we’re creating sustainable recycled ocean plastic products from ocean waste we find on our coasts or surfing on weekends, our team is deeply connected to our planet’s blue spaces. The message we carried was simple but powerful: clean water is a right, not a privilege. Together, we have the #PeoplePower to demand change. In this critical moment, we took our fight for clean water straight to the doorsteps of those in power, amplifying a call for action that cannot be ignored.
We demand a government response that prioritizes people and the planet over industry interests. We are a business committed to cleaning our water and are determined to demonstrate that businesses can be a positive force for good.
It’s time to remove industry influence from the Water (Special Measures) Bill and the Independent Water Commission. And we won’t stop pushing until they launch the long-overdue Bathing Water consultation and ensure organisations like Surfers Against Sewage and Oceana UK and the Blue Marine Foundation are at the table.
This march wasn’t just a protest—it was a rallying cry to protect our beloved blue spaces for future generations.
